Product Recalls

Objective
To ensure accurate and effective execution of CFIA recall notices.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has the responsibility for determining product recalls. All CCGD members subscribe to CFIA’s web-based product recall system to ensure prompt and accurate response to recall notices.
Periodic reviews are held between CFIA and CCGD to identify where process improvements can be made, based on recent recalls.

Current Activities
CCGD’s Food Recall Manual has been updated to provide members with best practices and the latest information on how to effectively manage food recalls.
